The International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) has now migrated to powerlifting.sport, joining the ever-growing ecosystem of International Federations, clubs, brands and sports stakeholders within the trusted .sport ecosystem.
Announced at the World Open Powerlifting Championships in Halmstad, Sweden, the IPF announced it has been successful in attaining its new internet extension, through the .sport project operated and overseen by GAISF.
The adoption of a top-level .sport domain not only confers legitimacy of the organisation as a reputable and leading body within its chosen field, but also increases online visibility and provides an opportunity for complete digital rebranding.
IPF President Gaston Parage said:
“We are pleased to be one of the pioneering sports federations on board with GAISF’s .sport initiative. As of today, our website and email addresses will use the exclusive extension powerlifting.sport.”
The .sport extension has been welcomed by organisations throughout the entire sports movement, including the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and WADA (World Anti-Doping Association).
IPF Online Media Manager Eric Rupp said of the migration process:
“The IPF appreciates the time and effort the GAISF has taken in creating the .sport internet domain, for the benefit of the international sporting community, and we are delighted to demonstrate that we are truly committed to moving forward with GAISF and its initiative.”
The window for .sport applications is now open, and organisations can register for an exclusive domain through https://start.sport, or one of GAISF’s accredited providers of .sport registration services.
