Entries opeN for Panathlon internaTional young writEr Competition

Panathlon International has launched a literary competition for young people, with the objective of promoting the shared values of Panathlon and the Olympic Movement.
As an international movement for the promotion of culture and sports ethics, Panathlon aims to deepen, spread and defend the values of sport. Panathlon views sport as a tool for the training and growth of individuals, as well as a vehicle for developing solidarity between different groups and nations. The term “Panathlon” comes from the Greek language and can be translated as a “set of sports disciplines”. Panathlon’s motto “Ludis Iungit” means “united by sport”.
The competition is open to young people aged between 11-19 years-old. Entries will be divided into two age brackets, from 11-15 and 16-19 years of age. Entrants willing to participate should submit a story (short story or essay) or a poem based on a theme from the selection below:
- How to increase awareness of Panathlon’s aims
- Ethics and fair play and their diverse forms
- Sport in society
- Sport and health
- Education through sport
- Violence in sport
- Fight against doping
- Values of the Paralympic Games
The accepted languages for entries are Italian, French, English, German, Spanish and Portuguese. The best entry per age bracket will be awarded a prize associated in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded for each category, age bracket and language, and all participants will receive a certificate of participation.
