The International Surfing Association (ISA), founded in 1964, is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the World Governing Authority for Surfing, StandUp Paddle (SUP) Racing and Surfing, Bodysurfing, Wakesurfing, and all other wave riding activities. Along with its World Championship Series, the ISA works to develop global surfing by providing educational programs in the areas of Judging and Officiating, Coaching and Instructing, Surf School Accreditation, Adapted Surfing, and also provides an ISA Individual Scholarship Program for Junior (under-18) surfers. ISA membership includes the surfing National Federations of 91 countries in five continents.
