The International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) is a non-profit organization founded at St. Moritz (Switzerland) in 1928, during the Winter Olympic Games. It is recognized by the IOC. Its main activities are focused on promoting the study and development of Sports Medicine throughout the world, on preserving and improving the health of mankind through physical fitness and sports participation, on studying scientifically the natural and pathological implications of physical training and sports participation, and on cooperating with national and international organizations in Sports Medicine and related fields.
