GAISF welcomes World Archery to .SPORT family

GAISF is delighted to welcome World Archery as the latest International Sports Federation (IF) to join the .SPORT family.
In World Archery’s first step in a wider shift to grow archery’s global online footprint, the primary address of the IF’s official website is now worldarchery.sport and its email domain has also changed to @archery.sport. In addition, World Archery has partnered with GAISF to make .SPORT available to all of its national member associations and other archery organisations across more than 25 languages.
The domain, which also increases visibility for Search Engine Optimisation, is operated by GAISF and already has over 1,000 organisations registered. GAISF’s ownership protects the integrity of the extension, ensuring that only fully qualified organisations — governing bodies, organisations, clubs and businesses — can use it.
As part of its mission to drive digital innovation and fan engagement, World Archery has also updated its website platform and refreshed much of the static content. In the build up to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the IF will continue to add new features and strengthen archery’s digital ecosystem.
World Archery Secretary General Tom Dielen said:
“Archery might be one of the oldest sports in existence but World Archery always embraces the future when there is an opportunity to evolve our digital ecosystem and better engage with fans.”
“The .SPORT domain unites sports organisations under a single trustworthy identity, the need for which is becoming ever more important on the internet, making it easier for the public to connect with trustworthy content online. We look forward to welcoming our national federations to the .SPORT umbrella, further strengthening archery’s digital offering in localised languages and regions.”
