GAISF DIRECTOR TO JOIN FIS
Lausanne, 11 December 2020; The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) and the International Ski Federation (FIS) today announced that GAISF Director Philippe Gueisbuhler will replace former FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis from 1st January 2021.
“If we must lose Philippe, then the best place for him to be is certainly helping one of our members,” said GAISF President Raffaele Chiulli. “I am confident that FIS will benefit from his professionalism and his passion for sport and we wish him well.”
Gueisbuhler joined GAISF in 2016 and led its operations since, implementing the strategy of the GAISF Council in delivering innovative projects for the organisation’s members. He also oversaw the delivery of the Budapest 2019 World Urban Games and the bidding and hosting processes for other multisport events.
“It has been a great privilege for me to serve the International Sports Federations and to work with the bodies who lead sport around the world. I am grateful to President Chiulli, to the GAISF Council, to my fellow staff members, our members and partners for a very special professional opportunity these past years,” said Gueisbuhler. “As I move to FIS, a GAISF member, I will continue to do all I can to support GAISF and my colleagues throughout the world of sport.”
